ribbons rule (with no signs of stopping)!&#38;nbsp;
 technically, this trend isn’t a new one.&#38;nbsp; it’s been lurking around for the past year or more but this time around, there’s a new twist.&#38;nbsp;
the tinier, the better!&#38;nbsp;
haven’t we already learned this along the way?&#38;nbsp; mini m&#38;amp;ms, marshmallows, reese’s peanut butter cups, puppies, kittens.&#38;nbsp; i rest my case.&#38;nbsp;

january, 2023the way i was.&#38;nbsp; the way i am (again) today.&#38;nbsp;


 sometimes the key to finding your purpose is to look back at all the things that you used to enjoy most as a kid. going through old family photo albums can help.&#38;nbsp; or if you’re like me, read your old diaries. when i was younger, i used to stay up at night figuring out all the outfit combinations that i could make with the clothing in my closet.&#38;nbsp; i would write them all down on binder paper, making a catalogue of sorts.i’d start with top or sweater and then make all the different outfits that i could with each of them.&#38;nbsp; this was well before “clueless” or any styling apps so i wrote them all down so that i wouldn’t forget.&#38;nbsp; each piece of binder paper had a title for all the different items of clothing and then a numbered list of all the different outfits i could think of. i put all the pages into a trapper keeper to reference it when i was getting ready for school.&#38;nbsp; my outfits would always be planned the night before.

when i think about where i am today and how far i’ve come to get back to doing exactly what i loved to do the most, i’m humbled and grateful for all the missteps and dead-ends that finally led me here.&#38;nbsp; i can’t even imagine that once upon a time, i’d sit behind a computer coding all day, living the life that i thought someone else approved of.&#38;nbsp; so what did it take to force me off the ledge?&#38;nbsp; total surrender.&#38;nbsp; it took grief, endless tears, and sorrow.&#38;nbsp; it took the loss of my dear mama, and to witness my father be robbed of the future he’d planned, to make me realize that all we have is now yet within me exists the power of magic. i am stronger and more powerful than i think.&#38;nbsp; 
what would you do if you weren’t afraid?

happy new year! i extend my open heart out to all sentient beings.&#38;nbsp;
  the changing of a year often requires self-reflection and resolutions to make this new year better than the one before it.&#38;nbsp; we look back on all that we’ve learned and how we’re going to expand our lives. i have admittedly spent a lot of time this past year in self-reflection. i really want to say it, as much to myself as to anyone else who’s out there reading this.&#38;nbsp; there is nothing to change, nothing to perfect for any one of us.&#38;nbsp; that’s what a world based on ‘lack economics’ wants us to believe. it thrives off it at our own expense... that somehow we need to buy this thing, lose weight, change our hair, or conform to a specific norm.&#38;nbsp; that when we make these changes to our authentic selves, we will THEN be happy. there is absolutely no shame in doing these things and celebrating the strength and self-discipline that it takes to expand our lives.&#38;nbsp; but this year, i’m just resting in who i am, as i am, and choosing gratitude, happiness, and self-love and care exactly where i am today.&#38;nbsp; 
i’m absolutely so excited for this new year, grateful for my health, the blessing of the love that surrounds me, and all the suprises that this new year has in store.&#38;nbsp;

i did it.&#38;nbsp; i absolutely caved.&#38;nbsp; i’ve broken one of my so-called fashion “rules” and i’m not even mad at it.
sometimes something speaks to you and you’ve just got to answer the call. &#38;nbsp;

december, 2022
i’m sorry for going dark on you, again.&#38;nbsp; lots has been up in mira mira land.&#38;nbsp; some bad and some good and all of it spent in the physical.&#38;nbsp; sometimes it’s challenging not being in the loop, but i have come to recognize it as a measure of my own healing.&#38;nbsp; maybe one day i’ll be back but for now, i need to tune into today.&#38;nbsp; this moment.&#38;nbsp; this breath.&#38;nbsp; 
another thing is that i haven’t been all that well this past year.&#38;nbsp; i’ve had lot of health bullshit going on that i didn’t want to deal with or talk about and that eventually culminated this september with a long recovery that i wish was going simpler. i’ve had to slow WAYYY down and that’s been hard for me.&#38;nbsp; patience has been a constant theme.

so back to what i’ve learned...being authentic will radiate more healing pure energy
than trying to be an ideal you.

i’ve had some extra time on my hands with little to do but rest in a still body and mind.&#38;nbsp; there is so much that comes in quiet moments: blessing, shadow, suffering, surrender.&#38;nbsp; i’m at a place on this
journey where i need to focus inward, to quietly integrate some hidden stories of childhood trauma to continue my healing. i was recently reflecting on suffering and i’ve found that it’s in these moments of sorrow that i’ve actually opened myself up to more love, compassion, and vulnerability.&#38;nbsp; it’s our pain that gives us space for grace. &#38;nbsp;&#38;nbsp;


if 2022 was all about 6 energy then this year for me was
definitely about self-love.&#38;nbsp; the way i speak to myself and look at my life and celebrate my blessings.&#38;nbsp; it’s about being selective about where i spend my time and shining brightly without fear in places where i’m welcomed.&#38;nbsp; it’s about going where the love is and not forcing it where it isn’t. &#38;nbsp; it takes a lot of work to truly love oneself but in as much as i can
cultivate this measure of self-love and kindness towards myself, this is what gives the capacity
to fully love another.&#38;nbsp; of course, i will always be imperfect but finding others to grow with in this process?&#38;nbsp; what a blessing!"i think in relationships, you create an environment with your own work on yourself, which you offer to another human being to use to grow in the way they need to grow."
