in-between days.  as the days have turned from indian summer (here in sf), to fall, to rainy wet weather, the transitional outfit is on full focus these days.  let’s face it.  it’s sweater weather but it’s also a chance to blend seasonal looks in flattering ways.
why it works:

1.  a larger-than-life statement necklace creates a point of interest to an otherwise paired down look.  the bolder the better.  the focus is drawn upwards toward the face and neck.

2.  a cozy sweater can sometimes become shapeless.  by tucking the hem into a highwaist jean, the look is altogether flattering and chunky at the same. pushing up the sleeves slightly will reveal a bit of wrist to flatter the fit.

3.  a baggy, slightly tapered oversized jean with a ultra-high rise is also a perfect fit.  the focus is on the narrowest part of the beltless waist and your eyes are drawn to there and down without being cut off in the middle.  hems are rolled to reveal a bit of skin and focus on the slightness of the ankle and wrist.

4.  open-toe slides reveal a bit of ankle, foot and toe that also serves to balance the bagginess of the look.  make that unexpected color pop.  no need for matchy matchy anymore these days.

5.  here to stay is the pouch purse tucked neatly but casually under the arm for an altogether elevated and current vibe.
